Celebrate Trails Day 2011 in Lincoln County!

 

LCAT is planning their annual National Trails Day event the first Saturday in June. In cooperation with the Bureau of Land Management, City of Caliente, Nevada State Parks, and the Lincoln County Commissioners, a great line-up of events is planned. Hikes, guided ATV rides, jeep and/or four-wheel drive ride, and an equestrian ride offer adventure and enjoyment for everyone. These events will take place in the mountains surrounding the town of Caliente in Lincoln County. The beautiful scenery and awesome trails in Lincoln County make this event a must attend.

Saturday, June 4th

Registration is from 7am – 9am at Jerry’s Sinclair Gas and Mini-Mart.
Please bring your own lunch/snacks and plenty of water for all events.
All events register at Jerry’s, except the Equestrian Ride. Equestrian registration is held at the 3L Arena, 400 Clover Canyon Road. Ride leaves at 8 am

Poker Runs All events offer the opportunity to participate in the Poker Run. Sign up when you register. Cards will be distributed throughout the rides with the last card being dealt at the meal in the Park. Prizes awarded in Caliente Rose Park. Prizes will be given for high and low hand and specially marked cards. Lots of fun for everyone!

Equestrian Trail Ride The ride begins and ends at the 3L Arena and is
approximately 15 miles. Participants register at the 3L Arena and Horse Motel, 400 Clover Canyon, Caliente, NV 89008. Registration is anytime Friday or Saturday from 7am-7:45am. The ride leaves at 8am. You will be back in plenty of time for the meal and prizes in Caliente Rose Park. Overnight corrals are available for participants who arrive on Friday. Jeep/4X4 Adventure The route is a 50 mile loop.
This Jeep/4X4 ride leaves from Jerry’s Sinclair in Caliente at 9am sharp.
Participants will enjoy historic mine sites, majestic scenery, sweeping vistas and great camaraderie. 4X4’s only for this off-roading event. Be sure to bring lunch, snacks & plenty of water. Plan on returning in time for the meal and prizes in Caliente Rose Park.

ATV Adventure This ride is approximately 38 to 45 miles. Ride leaves the Jerry’s Sinclair in Caliente at 9am sharp. Bring your own lunch, snacks and plenty of water. Depending on the course the ride may include stops to view trilobite fossils, petroglyphs and native wildlife. All rides offer spectacular views. Plan on returning in time for the meal and prizes in the Caliente Rose Park.

Trail Hikes The hiking trail will be chosen dependent on weather and group ability. There are several trails to choose from. Trails hike along washes, among mazes of boulders, along the perimeter of amazing rock formations and some explore slot canyons. Depending on the hike you may view remnants of the past, from petroglyphs to historic sites. Sweeping views, canyons, good company and a great time await the hikers. Bring your own lunch, snacks and plenty of water. Plan on returning in time for the meal and prizes at Caliente Rose Park.
