“Cuisine in the Country” Saturday, August 20th, 2011
Event starts at 5 p.m. on the Buckhorn Ranch two miles south of Alamo off of Highway 93,
north of Las Vegas.
Amazing food in the country. The chefs of Mario Batali’s Las Vegas restaurants, B&B Ristorante, Carnevino Italian Steakhouse, and Otto Pizzeria, are partnering with the Lincoln County, NV Producer’s Cooperative for the second year to bring you a unique outdoor event, “Cuisine in the Country.” The festivities will begin at 5:00 pm on Saturday, August 20, and will again be held at Buckhorn Ranch in Alamo, Nevada, just 90 miles north of Las Vegas. For those who were lucky enough to attend last July’s event, you need no introduction. For the rest, come and bring your family to a working ranch where you can relax and enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres while exploring the many facets of Buckhorn Ranch. Whatever you do, we are sure you won’t miss the aroma of high summer’s bounty being perfected on the spot by five star chefs.
The Batali Chefs will, once again, feature an Italian inspired casual dinner created from the freshest locally grown fruits and vegetables as well as locally produced meats. Featured this year will be a whole Lincoln County beef turned into spit roasted ribeye and strip loin, Spiedino of marinated beef, grilled beef pinwheels, as well as, a mixed grill of local goat in the style of Sardinia. Classic Italian salads and vegetable dishes such as Vegetable Scapece, Insalata Misticanza, and Summer Farro Salad will start to roundout the meal. And then there are the desserts…. This year we are particularly lucky in that Batali's Sommeliers decided to get in on the act and have created a wine pairing to compliment the variety of courses.
Between the embracing beauty of the Pahranagat Valley and the good cheer created by exceptional food and drink, this year’s event promises to be one of the culinary highlights of the year. A limited number of tickets are available, so get 'em while there hot! In case you have a change of plans, tickets will be refundable up until August 12th.

GUIDED HIKE IN PAHROC LABYRINTH
Sign up for a challenging, but rewarding experience. The Pahroc Labyrinth is a rocky playground surrounding Pahranagat Valley. These mazes of boulders strewn across thousands of acres from mountaintops to valleys are the favorite of “children” of all ages. Lose yourself as you go over, under, or around the rugged terrain. The hike will be over rocky, uneven terrain including some steep sections. Maximum elevation gain on the hike will be around 1500 feet. We will cover about 4 miles on the hike, but it may appear longer due to the challenging terrain.
Stay the night at an Alamo hotel after Cuisine Country. Rooms are limited, so book early. Meet in front of Windmill Ridge Restaurant at 7:00 AM. We leave early to miss the heat of the afternoon. We will be back at Windmill Ridge by 1:00 PM. Lunch and snacks will be included. Hike is limited to 7 people. Details will be emailed to you when you reserve a place in the tour.
If you have any questions, please contact James at 775-962-3427.
